Web entries and podcast entries should correspond to one of the submission categories (News, Entertainment, Programs for Children, Education, Documentary, Public Service, or Individual, Institution or Organization) and should be produced exclusively for the Web or an online platform. A list of additional guidelines follows:

  • Web/podcast entries must not be repurposed in any way from an offline medium. If the entry was done “in collaboration with another medium” (e.g. the web site or podcast is an added value in content, interactivity, or multimedia to a radio or television production, or represents an alternative means by which to consume an entry that is primarily intended for distribution by radio or broadcast or cable television), the web entry or podcast should be included as part of a broadcast or cable submission.
  • The date on which the entry went online must be specified when the entry is submitted for competition.
  • For review purposes, entrants must keep their nominated entries online, intact and accessible from submission until the date of the Peabody Awards presentation luncheon.
  • Web site entries must be accessible by the use of a current version of at least one commonly used web browser (e.g. Firefox, Microsoft Internet Explorer, Safari, Google Chrome) and on both Windows and Macintosh operating system
  • Podcast entries must be accessible in a format that is recognizable by most widely available portable media devices (e.g. .mp3, .wav, or .m4v).
  • For judging and archiving purposes entrants must also submit the entry (web site or podcast) in a physical form, such as DVD, audio CD, external hard drive or USB flash drive.
